About the project

In this case study, I explored the design and development of a web application for MomentHouse, a US-based SaaS hosting virtual live events for celebrities and their fans. Key features implemented include a reusable Checkout-SDK for seamless purchases, Patreon integration for exclusive discounts, and tools for banning/muting users and moderating chat/images to ensure clean content. These enhancements attracted more clients and investors, increasing sales by 30% and reducing tech debt, resulting in a more engaging and profitable platform for MomentHouse.

Introduction

In this case study, we will explore the process of designing and developing a web application for MomentHouse, a popular SaaS for hosting live events. The goal of the project was to build some complex features that effectively showcased the benefits of the SaaS and facilitated online events.

Client Background

MomentHouse is a US-based company that hosts virtual live events of celebrities for their fans through a web application. Their mission is to build a live streaming platform for celebrities where the fan can enter, enjoy live concerts, and connect with other fans via chat/group chat.

Challenge

The client needed some complex features to be built on their application like They were planning to build multiple applications with the same backend with some differences in frontend designs. The whole checkout flow needed to be implemented for the second application. Offer exclusive discounts for patrons. There was no restriction for users while uploading images and chatting. Users were able to upload bad images and could use abusive language in the chat. The platform needed the reporting feature to ban or mute the users from the platform.

Results

All of the above complex features were implemented completely which attracted more clients and investors to the Saas. It helped Momenthouse to increase their sales by 30% and of course, reducing the tech debt too was also increasing the profits.

Conclusion

Also, patrons were allowed to get exclusive discounts, chat, and images got clean and reporting feature was just awesome. All these reduced the tech debt of MomentHouse and attracted more clients and investors to the platform.
